Saturday 9: (There's) No Gettin' Over Me (1981)

1) Ronnie Milsap sings about how worrisome it can be when you realize you forgot to pay a bill. It's happened to all of us, hasn't it? Tell about about a time you accidentally missed a payment.

You know when you have a crappy mailman who delivers the wrong mail to people? This one use to drive around wearing those huge headphones blasting Rush (not the rock group Rush). I am pretty sure that he may also have some of my bills locked up in one of those storage lockers somewhere too. He was so bad that he would get reassigned every year and a half. That was a long year and a half for me...
2) He also references a dream that keeps him awake. Do you have any recurring dreams?

nope. Not these days.

3) He sings about the face you see in the crowd. Tell us about someone you see regularly, but don't really know.

Restaurant regulars. I am really really bad with faces and names.

4) He mentions the book that you just can't put down. What's the last book that you finished?

I'm actually in the middle of an audible book that my son recommended to me. The book makes me grateful to be living here and in the now- until I put the news on TV of course..

5) Ronnie Milsap is a big fan of new technology, and believes the advancements make both his professional and personal lives easier. What about you? Do you embrace new technology? Or do you long for the good old days, when we weren't so connected to personal devices?

Only the stuff that makes sense and doesn't cost  a lot of money. Some stuff is just dumb.

6) As a child, Ronnie used to surreptitiously listen to late night radio, especially gospel broadcasts. When you were a kid, what rule did you break again and again?

Eating too much candy.

7) Country star Blake Shelton says Ronnie Milsap was a big influence on his music. Do you watch Blake on The Voice?

Nope.

8) In May, Ronnie appeared at the Choctaw Casino in Grant, OK. Do you enjoy games of chance?

Nope again.

9) Random question -- When did you last "do it yourself" and repair something around the house or yard?

I'm regrowing the grass that was once a spot for my dog's pool in my yard. I liked that pool but, my injury last summer put an end to that one. Plus, now that my schnauzer is gone the fun is somewhat gone. She loved swimming...

Didn't Kevin's uncle pay for that trip to Paris? I wonder what he supposedly did for a living....

I've always wondered that, too.
I don't think we've ever had "that" mailman, but my mom was a rural letter carrier for over 20 years so I've MET a lot of them. LOL

Who is Kevin? I ate too much candy also. Mom had to hide the fudge at Christmas.

We have a substitute mail delivery person who does a horrible job on Saturdays. I try to time my orders so they don't arrive on Saturdays now.

This strikes me as weird: I've never seen Home Alone, and yet I know exactly what you're saying. That's how popular it was, that's how much everyone was talking about it!

Ok--I want to know what you're listening to for an audio book! :)

Gal- I remember driving past that house years ago. The people who owned it put a cut out of Kevin in the window to make it look like he was looking at people.

City of Thieves I actually have several books going on at one time...
I think Kevin's dad was a stockbroker, when the brokering was good. lol

I'm starting to think I will rent audio books from the library. Amazon wan't too much for their audio, I mean you are buying the darn book!

Last year I started hating the mail carriers when they said they put a book in my mail box and obviously they did not. They mis-delivered it like they have done countless times! It was a first edition copy of "Killers of the Flower Moon".
